Coronavirus: US in dire straits, there could be more deaths in coming weeks, says Trump

According to reports, the coming weeks’ data projection of the coronavirus death toll could rise in major hotspots in the US and reach its peak in the coming weeks. On Sunday, in the White House press meeting, President Trump said the coming two weeks are going to be tough for the Americans and unfortunately there could be more deaths.

Recently the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced new guidelines for safety, advising people to wear homemade masks, made of cloth, t-shirts, bandanas to cover their faces while in public spaces. The CDC urged and suggested the use of non-medical masks to fight the Covid-19 from spreading as the US is falling short of medical protective gear.

On the contrary, President Trump on Saturday rejected his administration’s advice to wear a mask, saying it’s voluntary and he won’t be wearing one. However, President Trump was expected to lead by example, but according to critics, his mixed public statements might confuse Americans during the pandemic outbreak.

As per The Guardian, the former vice president Joe Biden criticized Donald Trump by stating that if he aspires to be a wartime president, then he should show some leadership. Trump may not like wearing a mask, but the fact of the matter is we need to follow the science, and we need to adhere to what is recommended by the CDC, he added.
