Iran is suspecting a mole in its internal circle which could have leaked the whereabouts of their general who has systematically assassinated by the US recently.

Maj. Gen Qassem Soleimani was traveling from Syria to Baghdad and was killed minutes after he got down from the plane at the Baghdad International Airport. Along with him, six other military personnel also perished.

However, it is also being revealed that the US National Security Agency planned the offensive based on intelligence supplied by informants, electronic intercepts, reconnaissance aircraft, and the security forces of America’s regional allies.

In Tehran, the security breach is confirmed and they are hoping it comes from their own circuit itself. It has been inferred that an unmanned aerial vehicle would have taken at least three hours to reach Baghdad from Qatar, from where it is being confirmed that the US drones came.  It had taken an hour and a half for Soleimani’s plane to arrive from Damascus to Baghdad. Looking at the precise timing of the strike, it is clear that real-time location and flight details were shared with Washington by someone or a party close into the Soleimani’s military circuit.

US employed the Hellfire R9X Ninja missiles launched by the MQ-9 Reaper drone sent from Al-Udeid military and airbase in Qatar. They were remotely sent off but the origins have been confirmed by the British media as Qatar.

Qatar foreign minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani made his appearance in Tehran to show his solidarity. It is worth noting that Qatar is home to America’s biggest military base, the Al Udeid Air Force Base in Doha. As of 2017 statistical data, the base hosted over 11,000 U.S. and U.S.-led anti-ISIL coalition forces and over 100 operational aircraft.

Meanwhile, Israeli intelligence indicates that Iran is working to protect some of its on-ground assets, post a US threat. America, on its part, is also keeping a close vigil on all communication channels running to ensure they are prepared for the Iranian onslaught.

Soleimani was known for a symmetrical attack strategy. Political analysts believe if Iran were to follow that, they will not exhaust their ballistic missiles to create fear only. They may also attack nearby and not escalate the making of war. Somehow, they are aware they can’t win one against the US.
