Ocasio-Cortez: we don’t lack respect for Nancy Pelosi

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has been underfire for allegedly insulting Nancy Pelosi and responded to an Independent title “Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez shouldn’t insult Nancy Pelosi. She should learn from her,” saying that she just quoted the House Speaker.

“‘A glass of water could’ve [beat a 20-yr incumbt]’ ‘The Green Dream or whatever’ ‘Their public whatever’ Those aren’t quotes from me; they’re from the Speaker,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted. “Having respect for ourselves doesn’t mean we lack respect for her.”

Pelosi dismissed the four voted the House’s version of the border bill, passed with 230-195 votes, as just ‘four people’ and ‘public whatever’ and Cortez replied that ‘public whatever is called public sentiment’.

Also Ocasio-Cortez spoke against the approval of the border funding bill by Pelosi with 4.6 billion dollars without considering Democrats inputs: “Under no circumstances should the House vote for a McConnell-only bill w/ no negotiation with Democrats. Hell no,” .

The bill was passed on a 302-201 votes and 92 democrats voted against it.
