Vice President Mike Pence and Trump’s personal attorney Rudolph W. Giuliani have refused to disclose any documentation pertaining to the Ukrainian controversy.

It seems that both have refused to comply with Congressional subpoena for documents, which is a resultant of an ongoing impeachment inquiry against the US President Donald Trump.

Apparently, the Office of Management and Budget has also refused to comply with the official subpoena towards documents that explain the delay in payments of $400 million or more as aid to Ukraine. Democrats are trying to seek an explanation over the delay and reasons of withholding aid which was passed by the House Committees as immediate aid to Ukraine.

In another move, Democrats have also pushed for the Defense Department to hand over relevant documentation, as a part of the ongoing inquiry. While it was known that the department had agreed to comply, the statement was later retracted.

According to Representative Adam B. Schiff, the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee “the secretary of defense seems to have retracted from his commitment to comply with the congressional subpoenas. Well, apparently his willingness to comply has now been countermanded by a higher authority. Schiff was indicating that possibly, the retracement might have come under pressure from Trump through the White House counsel.

In their defense, both Pence and Giuliani have been vocal. “Never before in history has the Speaker of the House attempted to launch an ‘impeachment inquiry’ against a President without a majority of the House of Representatives voting to authorize a constitutionally acceptable process,” reads a letter sent by the vice president’s office Tuesday evening to the chairmen of the investigating committees.

Giuliani’s lawyer Jon Sale has also sent a letter to Congress, saying he wouldn’t comply with the subpoena. It is confirmed that this non compliance will be seen additional evidence of obstruction. House of Committee has further said that they will then be forced to infer that the evidence withheld substantiates the accusations of President Trump’s misconduct and efforts to cover it up.
