A statement released Wednesday on the occasion of the visit of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan to Germany, says that the UAE and Germany will continue the joint fight against extremism and terrorism in all its forms, both regionally and internationally.

The statement by the two countries expressed concern about the tensions in the Middle East area and called Iran to be playing a ‘constructive role and refrain from any escalatory steps’ and not interfere with other countrie’s affairs.

The Crown Prince and Angela Merkel also discussed the situation in Yemen and agreed that a military solution would not work in Syria and Libya, considering the Syrian conflict as a ‘priority for the international community’ and urging for a ‘political solution’ in Libya.
